Rome’s inaugural Nordic Film Fest takes place at the Casa del Cinema from 3 to 6 May.
The festival includes 19 films, of which 17 are Italian premieres, from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. There will be screenings of documentaries and short films at the event which is supported by the four Nordic embassies in Rome.
Among the well-known guests in attendance will be award-winning Swedish actress Pernilla August, presenting “Miss Kicki” by Håkon Liu and “Manslaughter” by Per Fly, as well as her directorial debut, “Beyond” starring Noomi Rapace who won Best Actress award at last year’s Rome International Film Festival.
Norway's Nils Gaup presents his film “The Kautokeino Rebellion”, Swedish director Lisa Ohlin presents “Simon and the Oaks” and Finland’s Zaida Bergroth presents her film “The Good Son”.
Festival organisers say that next year’s event could be expanded to include Iceland.
The films will all be screened in original language with Italian subtitles and entry is free. As seating is on a first-come basis it is advisable to get there early.
