Tivoli, one of main tourist attractions close to Rome, will once again offer Tivoli by night, starting on 7 July. Until 2 September the late 16th-century Villa DEste with its famous water garden will be open from 21.00 midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and its waterfalls and gardens will be illuminated.
Tivoli keeps offering new tourist attractions and this year has opened the newly restored sulphur bath complex at Bagni di Tivoli on the old Via Tiburtino just before Tivoli itself. As well as medical therapies for skin and respiratory complaints, there are five swimming pools in the spacious gardens with room for 3,000 visitors daily. For information see www.termediroma.org
The newly restored Villa Gregoriano was re-opened to the public in May 2005 and has already had more than 100,000 visitors.
