23 April. Rome's John Cabot University presents "GLBT: The Show", a performance by the Independent English Theatre, on 23 April.
Based loosely on “The Seven Ages of Man” speech from Shakespeare’s "As You Like It", the staged-reading performance explores a gay man's journey through life, starting from birth and moving through the teenage years to adulthood and eventually to death.
Using excerpts from fiction, plays, music, current affairs, film and television, the production addresses topics such as tolerance and acceptance, love and sensual passion.
The show will be followed by discussion with cast and representatives of Amnesty International.
Directed by Rafaelle Furno, with cast Sandra Paternostro, Rinaldo Rocco and Douglas Dean.
