Appia Nuova

Description

Unlike Appia Antica there is very little that is beautiful here. It is close to S.Giovanni, and the four or five-storey buildings went up in the 1950s and 1960s. Public transport to the historic centre is good, even by underground. As this is one of the main roads out of the city to the south the district is always full of traffic. Parking is not easy. There are a few open markets, numerous small shops and one small park, until you get to the golf club at Acquasanta and then you're out into the beginnings of the Campagna Romana.
