On the premises of a former grocery shop, the Grammelot is a real jewel. Located in the Monteverde area, on the hill that overlooks Trastevere, a short walk away from the Gianicolo terrace (probably the best view spot – and among the most romantic! – at night), it’s one of the few options in the area. It's a great place, friendly, with decent snack plates that come with your wine order, and a reasonable menu of other foods.
I just want to clarify though - while it may geographically be on the Gianicolo, it's along the ridge, on the main drag in Monteverde Nuovo. It does not overlook Trastevere. If it "overlooks" anything, it's a busy road.
